The Love Is Gone by Waiting For Sunday

A jazz-trained bassist, classic rock lead guitarist, industrial rock drummer, and indie-rock vocalist is what makes the Canadian rock band Waiting For Sunday.

Based off the title and video for “The Love Is Gone,” Waiting For Sunday is surely a darker band. Throughout the video, it seems like all the men are hopeless, with one man halfway buried in the dirt, one man painting a picture of what seems to be a past lover, an elderly man walking alone, and another man stressed sitting ahead a pile of papers and money at a desk.

With such powerful lyrics such as “we are all full of regret” and “the love is gone, it’s all been washed away,” there’s no doubt to why the band won the Platinum Remi Award for Music Video Production at the 49th Houston WorldFest, Director’s Choice Best Music Video at the 9th Rincon International Film Festival, Music Video Gold Kahuna Award at the Honolulu International Film Festival, and the Official Selection at FilmQuest 2016 for this video.

Rock music isn’t always just about the cliche sex, drugs, and alcohol. It’s about the lyrical impact the music can give on people too, and some people fail to realize that. That’s what makes “The Love Is Gone” by Waiting For Sunday a prominent relief.
